When the Citroën BX Sport first came out in 1985 it was the topmodel of the BX range. The BX Sport was produced from may 1985 up to the beginning of 1987.

In total 8200 Sports where produced during this period.

Based on it's predecessor the BX GT, but with both optical as well as mechanical adaptions, performance and looks where upgraded, resulting in an increase in hp from 109 bhp to 126 bhp.
