Citroën launched the BX GTi as the replacement for the BX Sport and the aging BX GT in 1986.
At first it was produced without catalytic convertor untill 1990, production ended in 1992.

Optically the GTi was recognisable because of the rear spoiler also seen on the BX Sport, a front end spoiler was also fitted, as well as foglights in the frontbumper.
