The Citroën BX GTi 16 Valves was the first ever french produktion car with a16 valves engine. From 1987 the BX 16V with a 160 bhp was available in the netherlands.

Late 1989 the Mark 1 was replaced by the new mark 2 BX 16V, wich unfortunatly only had a 148 bhp engine, amongst others because of reduced compression, and a catalytic converter.
